POSITION: WORKSHOP MANAGER

THE JOB:

  • Responsible for managing the workshops, leading the maintenance of our onsite fleet, delegating workload and managing the Technician team including training and development.
  • Ensure all build and maintenance tasks are carried on time and to the highest standard, managing the quality control and output.
  • Manage the workshop inventory, order required parts and oversee stock control.
  • Ensure the Workshop Team work in a safe and efficient manner and adhere to all company policies and procedures relating to Health and Safety.
  • Supervise the Technician team ensuring high standards of work, time-keeping and attendance are monitored.
  • Motivate and engage with the team on a daily basis.
  • Manage the workshop calendar and monitor lead times to ensure workshop efficiency.
  • Schedule Technicians through RotaCloud, ensuring the system is monitored and updated and reporting processes are maximised and timely.
  • Providing coaching and mentoring support to new team members.
  • Responsible for delivering mandatory training for the team.
  • Identify talent and development opportunities.
  • Problem-solve, create solutions and identify improvements and efficiencies.
  • Provide support to the Suffolk based retail arm of the business including overseeing the servicing of bikes for London based customers.
  • Although being a Workshop Manager will be your primary role you will be expected to assist wherever required, be it acting as a Rider, taking deliveries or assisting in other areas of the operation, such as shift controller - as with all staff, flexibility in your job role is key.
     

ABOUT YOU:

  • Minimum 2 years workshop management experience.
  • Level 2 City And Guilds Bike Mechanics or equivalent (Cytech)
  • Experience of working as a mechanic within a professional high paced environment.
  • Experience of electrical bike systems and their maintenance .
  • Strong people management skills with ability to motivate a team.
  • Great Communication Skills
  • Customer Service Experience
  • Systematic and efficient organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritise and work to tight deadlines.
  • Understand KPI targets and expectations to achieve results
  • Experience in scheduling and rota planning.
  • Passionate about mechanics but also about delivering excellent customer service.
  • Adaptable and resilient.
  • Dynamic and hardworking.
  • Identify and support talent in others, helping those who want to learn more about mechanics and e-bike repair and maintenance.
  • Proficient and confident bike rider.
